Obituary-Larry Wayne Thomas

Larry Wayne Thomas, 68, passed away peacefully at his home on Monday, April 18, 2022, surrounded by those who loved him dearly.  He was born on June 12, 1953, in Clay Center to Calvin and Marilyn Thomas.  He graduated from Clay Center Community High School in 1971.  He briefly attended Cloud County Community College and then began his lifetime career as a farmer and cattleman.  On January 15, 1982, he was united in marriage to Susan Marshall Thomas in Dallas, TX.  To that union was born one daughter, Kate (Thomas) Bergsten and one son, Ryan Thomas.  Larry was a member of the SS Peter and Paul Catholic Church.
Larry knew no stranger, was a great friend to many and always wore a smile.  His haven was his farm where he enjoyed working his cattle and planting and harvesting his crops.  He enjoyed hunting deer and dearly loved fishing with his grandchildren.  Every summer he looked forward to camping in Colorado with his family.
Larry was preceded in death by his father, Calvin Thomas.
Survivors include: Wife, Susan Thomas, Clay Center, KS; Daughter, Kate (Dana) Bergsten, Douglass, KS; Son, Ryan (Krista) Thomas, Clay Center, KS; Grandchildren, Kennedy, Gentry, and Emery Bergsten, Douglass, KS; Logan, Brandt, and Mika Thomas, Clay Center, KS; Mother, Marilyn Thomas, Clay Center, KS; Brother, Gail (Susan) Thomas, Clay Center, KS; Sisters, Deanne (Don) Graham, Castle Rock, CO, Kristi (Bruce) Kaump, Randolph, KS; Many Nieces and Nephews.
Respect calls will be Sunday, April 24th, from 4-7pm at SS Peter and Paul Catholic Church.  Funeral services will be held at SS Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Clay Center, KS on Monday, April 25, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. with burial to follow at Greenwood Cemetery.
