Anna K. Maish, age 98, of Concordia, KS, passed away on Thursday, May 12, 2022 at Mount Joseph Senior Village, Concordia, Kansas. She was born on March 13, 1924 in rural Gilead, NE to Henry D. “Hank” & Renste (Onnen) Itzen.
She graduated from Concordia High School in 1942.
She married Thaine Maish on Aug. 10, 1944 in Minneapolis, KS and they enjoyed more than 61 wonderful years together before he passed on Dec. 18, 2005. Anna and Thaine camped and traveled before it was commonly popular.
She worked for Caldwells Shoe Store as a bookkeeper and the ASCS/FSA office. She was a member of Concordia Lutheran Church and former E.H.U. member. She was an avid card player and enjoyed all her various card clubs and parties. Anna was a very practical lady and known for her shorthand notes.
She is survived by her son, Alan Maish (Carol), Jamestown, KS; grandchildren, Erin Urban (Jeremy), Concordia, KS, Amanda Maish, Lincoln, NE; Westin Maish, Jamestown, KS; great grandchild, Sean Riley Urban; brother, Donald Itzen, Fairbury, NE & many nieces & nephews.
She was preceded by her husband, Thaine; her parents; great granddaughter, Alyssa Urban; brother, Henry (Mary) Itzen; sisters, Irene (Frank) Husa, Loretta (John) Spidalieri & Bernice (Edward) Bauer and sisters in law, Barb Itzen, Imogene (Julian) Buer & Anna Margaret (Lyle) Kinkead.
Cremation was chosen and the family will celebrate her life on Saturday, May 21, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. at the Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home, Concordia. Family burial will be at the Fairview Cemetery, rural Concordia at a later time. Friends may call on Friday, May 20, 2022, from 9 am-5 pm at Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home.
