Benjamin Berger, age 43, of Barnes, passed away on Saturday, February 17, 2024.
Ben was born May 8, 1980, in Manhattan to Delvin L. and Elaine J. (Blaske) Berger. He graduated from Valley Heights High School in 1998. He was married to Holly D. Behrens on April 28, 2012, in Marysville.
Ben worked as a Conductor for the Union Pacific Railroad. He was a member of St. Mark Lutheran Church in Waterville, the Barnes Rural Fire Department, Farmer’s Union, and SMART Railroad Union, and had been active with 4-H when he was growing up.
Ben was an awesome dad and uncle. He loved to country cruise and being a Jokester. He made his family laugh when he’d cruise country roads singing loudly with the radio and when he lived up to his nickname “Bull”. He used to enjoy hunting, but lately decided he enjoyed hunting deer sheds more. He was also a huge KC Chiefs fan.
Ben was preceded in death by his parents and his uncle Ivan Berger.
His survivors include his wife Holly, his sister Suzette (Adam) Yungeberg of Barnes, a daughter Macie Behrens of Manhattan, and his aunt Janet Berger of Barnes, along with nieces and nephews, and several cousins.
