Obituary for Maxine Trahan

 

 

On March 6, 2022, LuEllen Maxine (Goldenstein) Trahan, 97 passed away at Mount Joseph Nursing Home, Concordia, KS. She was born May 26, 1924, to Earl and Ellen (Bremerman) Goldenstein at Flagler, Colorado.She grew up in the Cloud county area. Graduated from Miltonvale Rural High School, received her teaching certificate, and taught school in a one room school house.

She joined the Catholic Church prior to marrying Everett L. Trahan on May 4, 1944 at St. Anthony’s Church in Miltonvale. To this union were born eight children. Larry, Carmen, Coleen Paillet, Mary Ann, Randy, Ava Trahan, Max and Yvette Trahan.

Proceeding her in death were her parents, husband Everett, daughter Mary Ann, grandson Joshua Paillet, son-in-law Kenny Paillet, daughter-in-law Margie (Ensign) Trahan, her sister Emily Walmsley,  brother Larry Earl Goldenstein.

Her love of teaching was shared in the CCD program where she also served as the coordinator for several years. She was a member of St. Anthony’s Altar Society, where she helped with countless projects, giving of her time and treasure. She practiced her faith quietly with strength and steadfastness.

She leaves 23 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and friends.

Respect calls are at St. Anthony’s Church Miltonvale on March 15 from 5 – 6:30 pm. Rosary following. Funeral Mass will be Wednesday, March 16 at 10:00AM.
