Obituary-Jo Voecks

Jo Ann was born on June 1953 in Herlong, California to Nellie (Buck) Snavely, and Leonard Snavely.  Leonard was in the USAF and was a trained Fireman. Later they moved to Phoenix, where Leonard passed away on August 20, 1958.  This drastically impacted the family, and they moved to Clay Center, Kansas and later to Denver, Colorado.  Jo Ann is one of 5 children in the family, including John, Lee, Carol, and Betty Jane.

Jo Ann was married to Leroy Moffit in 1967 and built their family together. They later divorced and she married Dan Voecks on May 22, 1991.

Jo Ann is survived by her daughters Betty, Susan, Linda, and her son Lowell.  She was also blessed with 8 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.  She is preceded in death by her mother Nellie in 1996, son Leroy in 1990, and husband Dan Voecks 1992.

She worked various jobs over the years, but her favorite jobs were as a CNA in the Arizona Hospice program for a few years, and then also she started an Answering Service in Phoenix and worked that out of her home.

Jo was popular wherever she lived in Kansas, Arizona, or Colorado, and always had the coffee pot going and friends and neighbors would stop by.

She was a wonderful, thoughtful, generous person.  She loved people and family. Our loss will be felt for a long time.  She will be missed.

FALLEN LIMB

A limb has fallen from the family tree.

I keep hearing a voice that says, “Grieve notfor me.”

Remember the best times, the laughter, thesong.

The good life I lived while I was strong.

Continue my heritage, I’m counting on you.Keep smiling and surely the sun will shine

through.

My mind is at ease, my soul is a rest.Remembering all, how I truly was blessed.

Continue traditions, no matter how small.Go on with your life, don’t worry about falls.

I miss you all dearly, so keep up your chin.

Until the day comes, we’re together again.
