Obituary-Marlaine Champagne

Marlaine Sue Champagne, 74, died December 20, 2022, at Community Memorial Healthcare in Marysville.

Visitation will be Wednesday, January 4, 2023, from 1 to 8 p.m. at the Hanover Mortuary.  The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m.

A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, January 5, at Immanuel Lutheran (Hermansberg) Church, north-east of Bremen.  Rev. Aaron T. Fenker, Sr., will officiate.

The pallbearers will be Jason Crome, Joey Crome, Greg Stohs, Johnathan Stohs, Kayne Hagedorn, James Hagedorn, Dacey Hagedorn and Dalton Hagedorn.

Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Marlaine was born July 25, 1948, at Odell, NE, daughter of Alvin and Marjorie (Gordon) Hagedorn.  In 1966, she graduated from Hanover High School.

On October 1, 1968, she married Kenneth Champagne at Manhattan, KS.  They lived in Manhattan a short time before moving to Louisiana.  There she worked as an accountant for the largest law firm in the city for over 20 years.  In 1991, they moved back to Kansas and shortly after went to work for Travalong Trailers in Waterville.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and husband, Kenneth on August 11, 1994.

Survivors include two sons, Kevin (Teresa) Champagne, Hanover, and Kurt Champagne, Milford, KS; two grandchildren, Eric Heideman and Jana (Jarrid) Lauer; great-grandson, Reddick Lauer; siblings, Larry (Sue) Hagedorn, Hanover, Richard (Carol) Hagedorn, Herkimer, Nancy (Wayne) Crome, Hanover, Wayne Hagedorn, Ardmore, OK, Alice (Gordon) Stohs, Wamego, and Mark (Lori) Hagedorn, Hanover.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions will be designated by the family.  Contributions may be sent in care of the Hanover Mortuary.
