Following Executive Order #20-30, today, Governor Laury Kelly directed that from sunup to sundown on Friday, July 12, all flags be flown at half-staff in Lyon County in honor of City Commissioner and former Emporia Mayor Danny Giefer.

“Mayor Giefer’s commitment and contributions to the people of Emporia will not be forgotten,” Governor Laura Kelly said. “His tireless work to support the community was felt by many. My condolences go out to his family and loved ones.”
