Kansas City, March 26, 2024 – On Monday, the Chiefs welcomed coaches and administrators from local Missouri schools to GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium for a dinner and meeting ahead of the upcoming high school girls Flag Football spring season pilot program. Attendees received presentations on rules and training from NFL Flag Assistant Director of Officiating Michael Jenkins. Schools launching the pilot program this spring include Kansas City Public Schools, Independence School District, Lee’s Summit School District, and others.

The Chiefs have provided each team with a $6,000 grant and connected them with resources for Nike jerseys, USA Football equipment kits, and a dedicated website page. The season begins on April 12 and ends with a tournament on May 18. GEHA Field will host the NFL Flag Super Regional Semifinals and Finals on April 21, along with a High School Girls Flag Football Luncheon and Panel featuring female sports leaders. Girls Flag Football offers potential scholarship opportunities at local NAIA and NJCAA colleges, with 20 Missouri schools launching pilot programs.
