In the Abilene Invite, Clay Center faced off against Abilene, Chapman, Concordia, Ellsworth, and Hays. In the team standings, Clay Center secured 1st place with 50 points, maintaining an unbeaten record of 13-0 in matches played. Hays clinched 2nd place with 26 points, followed by Concordia in 3rd with 24 points, Chapman in 4th with 20 points, Ellsworth in 5th with 16 points, and Abilene in 6th with 14 points.
In the #1 Singles category, Cale Tromp finished with a 3-0 record, defeating 2023 State Medalist Ian Wooldridge in the finals match to claim the 1st place medal. Tromp held an early 5-2 lead, but Wooldridge rallied to take a 7-6 lead. However, Tromp bounced back to force a tiebreaker game, which he won with a score of 7-5, securing the 1st place medal.
Eli Pfizenmaier dominated in the #2 Singles category, also finishing with a flawless 3-0 record and earning the 1st place medal.
In the #1 Doubles category, Taige Pfizenmaier and JT Alton paired up to achieve a perfect 3-0 record, securing the 1st place medal for their team.
The #2 Doubles team of Brooks Craig and Anthony Davies displayed exceptional teamwork, finishing with an impressive 4-0 record without dropping a single game, earning them the 1st place medal in their category.
