MANHATTAN, Kan. – The K-State women’s tennis team kicked off Big 12 conference action with a commanding 6-1 win over the Iowa State Cyclones at Mike Goss Tennis Stadium. No. 58 K-State (7-2) secured the doubles point and capitalized on forfeits in both doubles and singles play from Iowa State (2-6). Junior Veronika Kulhava and freshman Tereza Polakova clinched the doubles victory, while senior Manami Ukita led the singles charge with a straight-set win. The Wildcats’ next challenge is against in-state rivals Kansas (2-6) on Sunday at 12 p.m. at Mike Goss Tennis Stadium. Coach Jordan Smith praised his team’s performance and looks ahead to the Sunflower Showdown matchup.
