The Geary County K-State Research & Extension Office in partnership with the Geary County Childcare Coalition will be holding a Childcare Crisis Summit on Friday, March 22nd in Junction City. The Summit will take place at the USD 475 Professional Learning Center from 10:00 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Geary County citizens currently have 1,800 fewer childcare options than they need. The Summit is meant to bring professional and community leaders together to brainstorm ways to fill this gap.
Geary County Commissioner Trish Giordano said right now they are only serving 24% of the childcare needs in the Community.
This is a free Summit with lunch being provided. Registration is required by March 20th. You can RSVP and learn more information on the Geary County K-State Research & Extension’s Facebook page.
