Today, March 5th, the Kansas Department of Health and Environment began its Governor’s Public Health Conference. This two-day event, taking place in Wichita, anticipates seeing over 500 public health professionals from local health departments, public health nurses, maternal and child health staff, and various leaders from across Kansas.

“This conference brings public health professionals from across the state together for a great opportunity to learn and network with each other,” said KDHE Deputy Secretary for Public Health Ashley Goss. “The Governor’s Public Health Conference also allows us to see the growth of public health in our state while continuing to collaborate with our partners and strengthen our mission of positively impacting the health of all Kansans.”

State leaders, national speakers, and regional experts will convene to discuss critical issues regarding public health. 30 breakout sessions from four keynote speakers will talk about issues including public safety, workforce development, substance use, and more.
