Junction City Municipal Court Judge Michael McKone has unveiled plans for an Amnesty Week beginning May 13th. This initiative aims to offer individuals the opportunity to resolve outstanding warrants with the Municipal Court without facing questioning or consequences.
McKone emphasized that during Amnesty Week, warrants will be cleared, no questions asked. However, he advised caution for individuals with warrants from both the Municipal Court and District Court, particularly in felony cases, suggesting that showing up might not be advisable.
The primary goal of Amnesty Week is to address the backlog of old warrants and to treat individuals with openness, honesty, and fairness.
McKone presented these plans to the Junction City Commission.
