Kansas Aviation Day: Exploring Opportunities and Innovations

Representatives from various sectors of aviation in Kansas will convene for Aviation Day at the Capitol on Thursday, Feb. 15th, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. The event, sponsored by the Kansas Department of Transportation and the Kansas Commission on Aerospace Education, will focus on discussions about employment opportunities, infrastructure, and advancements in emerging technologies within the aviation industry.

Several organizations will be present, hosting booths on the first floor of the rotunda, providing information and demonstrations for visitors. This event serves to raise awareness of opportunities available within the aviation industry throughout the state.

The presentations will start at 10:00 a.m. and will be held on the first floor. Keynote speakers include Joe Miniace, the Central Region Administrator for the Federal Aviation Administration, and Pierre Harter, who serves as the Associate Vice President for Industry and Defense Programs at Wichita State University’s Research Operations. In addition, Harter holds the position of Director of Research and Development at the National Institute for Aviation Research at the university.
