Kansas Highway Patrol Releases Fourth of July Holiday Report

The Kansas Highway Patrol (KHP) has released its Independence Day Holiday Activity Report. The reporting period began at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, July 3rd, and ended at 11:59 p.m. on Sunday, July 7th.

KHP reported zero fatal crashes over the holiday.

According to the 2024 enforcement data, KHP made a total of 16 DUI arrests, which was down from 31 in 2023. 909 speed warnings and 1,085 speed citations were issued. 149 safety belt citations and 28 child restraint citations were issued. KHP assisted 901 motorists during this holiday period.
