Kansas Highway Patrol’s Holiday Activity Report: DUI Arrests, Speeding Citations, and Motorist Assistance

The Memorial Day Weekend Holiday Activity Report has been released by the Kansas Highway Patrol (KHP). The holiday weekend reporting period ran from 6 p.m. on Friday, May 24 through 11:59 p.m. on Monday, May 27.

KHP made 21 DUI arrests, with zero DUI-related accidents. They worked one fatal non-DUI-related crash and three non-DUI-related fatalities, down from four non-DUI-related crashes and seven non-DUI-related fatalities that occurred last year.

KHP issued 840 citations for speeding and gave out 565 speed warnings. In addition, there were 92 citations handed out for not wearing safety belts and 21 citations for not using child restraints. In total, KHP assisted 532 motorists over the reporting period.
