Kansas State University’s College of Veterinary Medicine has secured the Health Professions Higher Education Excellence in Diversity (HEED) Award for the third consecutive year. Insight Into Diversity magazine, a prominent diversity-focused higher education publication, bestowed this recognition upon the institution.

This annual award is a national distinction celebrating health colleges and universities in the United States that demonstrate exceptional commitment to diversity and inclusion. Kansas State University, among the 65 recipients, will be featured in the November/December 2023 edition of Insight Into Diversity magazine.

The veterinary college’s proactive approach to identifying and integrating diversity, equity, and inclusion opportunities played a pivotal role in securing this accolade. Faculty, staff, and students are afforded a wide range of diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging training through partnerships with institutions like the Diversity and Resilience Institute of El Paso, the Purdue Certificate for Diversity and Inclusion in Veterinary Medicine, and the American Veterinary Medical Association’s Brave Space Certificate Program.
