KHP Releases Holiday Activity Report

The New Year’s Weekend Holiday Activity Report, released by the Kansas Highway Patrol, took place from 6 pm on Friday, December 29th, through 11:59 pm on Monday, January 1st.

During this period, the Kansas Highway Patrol responded to one fatal crash unrelated to DUI, resulting in one non-DUI-related fatality.

2024 enforcement data shows the Kansas Highway Patrol recorded an increase in DUI arrests, totaling 29 compared to 22 in 2023. A total of 717 speed citations and 476 speed warnings were issued. Safety belt citations totaled 39, along with 19 child restraint citations. During the reporting period, the Kansas Highway Patrol provided assistance to 504 motorists.
