On March 27, the Clay Center United Methodist Church hosted Garfield Elementary’s Young Entrepreneur Fair.
The fair hosted 16 students’ businesses, said Anna Knepper, who coordinated the effort.
Booths at the fair sold paintings, home cooked dog treats, tiny cactus, homemade jewelry, and even trading cards. I spoke with 4th grader Bradi Hartman who sold prints of her photography.
She said she began photography through 4-H and loves to photograph horses.
Participating students were responsible for their own products, services, booth supplies, and finances. The money the students earned was theirs to keep.
