Flint Hills Quilt Trail Adds Adventure and Color to Rural Kansas

By Ryan Duey

Speckled across the Flint Hills and beyond are beautiful barn quilts, adding color and art throughout the rural area. In 2011 a few Women came together and started what is now known as the Kansas Flint Hills Quilt Trail. We spoke with Connie Larson, one of the Founding Members, about how it all got started.

Over the decade-plus the Flint Hills Trail has grown substantially, even prompting other Quilt Trails throughout the State.

Connie and the rest of the Committee would love to see the Trail continue to grow.

Go to the Kansas Flint Hills Website to; find a trail map, get information on the Trail, or to find a Quilter near you if you’re looking for a Barn quilt to add to your business or home.
