In line with Executive Order #20-30, Governor Laura Kelly has ordered that flags across the state be lowered to half-staff from dawn to dusk on Thursday, May 9, 2024. This is to pay tribute to the late Fred Six, a former Justice of the Kansas Supreme Court, who passed away in April.
“Justice Six served our state honorably during his tenure on the Kansas Supreme Court,” Governor Laura Kelly said. “On behalf of the State of Kansas, I thank him for his dedication, expertise, and fairness. My deepest condolences go out to his loved ones.”
Justice Six was nominated to the Kansas Supreme Court in 1988 by Governor Mike Hayden and continued his service until he retired in 2003.
